Tony's collages of sound, images and words draw from disparate musical and visual sources to create surreal juxtapositions of early detroit techno futurism, deep folk memory and decades of popular expressions of the national character.
The techno producer from Saint Petersberg made his debut in 2019 with his album «Русские народные мотивы, целебный колокольный звон и промышленное детройтское техно» (Russian folk motifs, healing bell ringing and industrial detroit techno), described as 'an abstract-orthodox mix of spiritual, dance folk, russian accordion music with national instuments like kuvytsi, korobochka, drova and rural tribal rhythms framed by cold sounded futurism of detroit techno'.
It's a journey through the Russian dance tradition, from ancient pagan times to late christian movement, from suburban ghettos of Detroit to the enclaves of underground techno music from Saint Petersberg.
Tony's music erases the borders between ancient rural times and modern post-industrial age.
